The Art of Horror: Under the Skin of HHN14’s Karang Guni and the icons behind the Cursed Collection

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 0 Hero Ponti Ana Karang Guni TV Ghost Hamikuma

Every HHN icon starts as an idea before it becomes a face. Ahead of Halloween Horror Nights 14 at Universal Studios Singapore, the park lifts the curtain for this year’s iconic characters, sharing the dark stories and a live makeup transformation of the Karang Guni.

Halloween Horror Nights 14 Special Previews

Thanks to Resorts World Sentosa, here is your HHN14 sneak peek at the horrors coming to Universal Studios Singapore this season.

A Rush of Fear (Inside Haunted Houses) · The Art of Horror (Meet HHN14 Icons)

Halloween Horror Nights 14 at Universal Studios Singapore starts from 25 September 2026, and you can get your HHN14 tickets now from Klook and learn more about this year’s line-up in my HHN14 Event Guide.

In this story, you’ll see creative costuming at work along with first looks at this year’s iconic characters.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 1 Host Coral Tong

Hosted by Coral Tong, Show Director and Casting Director for entertainment at RWS, each icon was introduced alongside its show director.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 2 Fatimah Rockers

The showcase opened as the Fatimah Rockers took the floor with THRILLSEEKER.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 3 Fatimah Rockers

These Pontianak-inspired spirits rise alongside Ponti-Ana at The Raveyard, and also prowl the park as Roaming Horrors. THRILLSEEKER is also an all-new original song created for HHN14 and the Festival of Thrills across Resorts World Sentosa.

Made in Hell: XL Robotics

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 4 The CEO

Senior Show Director Carina Hales introduced the CEO, the man who runs XL Robotics.

He has biohacked himself in pursuit of eternal life, fusing science, robotics and ritual until he considers himself a perfected hybrid specimen, multidimensional and beyond human. He brings about a world where artificial immortality is worth any cost.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 4 The CEO Closeup

A figure in corporate dress is an unusual silhouette for an HHN icon, but the CEO is from a horrifying future.

Singapore’s Most Haunted: ON AIR

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 5 Ryan Wilson with TV Ghost

Senior Show Director Ryan Wilson introduced the TV Ghost, and the premise here is smarter than it first appears. She is the physical manifestation of the fear people feel from horror stories, and she grows stronger and more immortal the more those stories get retold.

That is why she has taken over a recording studio, trapping its actors and crew to retell five horrific stories on a loop, feeding her strength. She resembles both the Pontianak and the Langsuir, leaning more towards the latter.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 5 TV Ghost closeup

There is something creepypasta about her, which fits a character who only exists because people keep retelling her story.

Club PanDEMONium

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 6 Cameron Dyer with KHAOS

Show Director Cameron Dyer introduced KHAOS, a theatrical demon and ruthless judge of souls, condemned to hell after committing all seven deadly sins.

To make eternity more bearable, he has built his own twisted cabaret for the souls awaiting judgement, staged as Club PanDEMONium at the Pantages Hollywood Theater. Powerful, volatile, narcissistic and theatrical, with a costume built around sinister colour, blood and glitter to carry both the showmanship and the darkness.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 6 KHAOS

He is theatrical to the point of excess, and that seems to be exactly the point. Pantages is going all out on camp this year.

Nail the Beat

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 7 Aslynda and Coral with Hamikuma and Ponti Ana

Show Director Aslynda introduced the two icons debuting together at The Raveyard.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 7 Hamikuma closeup

HamiKuma needs little introduction. The cute, cuddly zombie teddy bear first appeared at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Japan in 2021 and became a social media favourite. This is his first appearance at Universal Studios Singapore.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 7 Ponti Ana closeup

Then there is our new girl. Ponti-Ana is a new original character inspired by the Pontianak, a female spirit risen from the graveyard. Her hypnotic rhythm is what draws the ghostly Fatimah Rockers to rise alongside her, turning The Raveyard into a supernatural dance floor.

However, the Fatimah Rockers did not inherit her charm. Ponti-Ana is the cuter end of the same curse, and she knows it.

Karang Guni: The Cursed Collection

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 8 Deen and Amsyar and Karang Guni demo

Show Director Amsyar (right) introduced the last icon with Head of Hair and Makeup Deen (left), which reimagines a figure every Singaporean knows. The Karang Guni once went door to door collecting old items. This one has spent years collecting cursed ones, and they have slowly possessed him.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 8 Deen and Amsyar and Karang Guni demo 3 stages

You meet three versions of him through the house: his normal self, a partially transformed state, and his fully transformed, possessed final form.

Deen then walked us through that final look live. The finished character uses eight silicone prosthetics, three 3D prosthetics and a balding wig, with tan cream and black paint showing the toll the possession has taken on his body, finished with blood detailing around the eyes.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 9 Karang Guni lunges out

He anchors Karang Guni: The Cursed Collection haunted house, where the team has packed some 1,125 props into his shophouse: broken altars, cracked mirrors, abandoned dolls, ritual objects.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 9 Karang Guni closeup

And the Karang Guni does not stay put. True to his trade as a roving rag-and-bone man, he is one of this year’s Roaming Horrors too, alongside the Fatimah Rockers. Watch where you walk.

The Icons

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 9 All Icons

And there we have it, some of the new icons of HHN14! But that’s not all, as there are more costume displays at the showcase.

More from the Cursed Collection

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 10 Costume Display Hells Belle from Club PanDEMONium with Robot from XL Robotics

Hell’s Belle is one of the Club PanDEMONium showgirls, part of KHAOS’ entourage, guiding sinful souls on their final journey. The cabaret-inspired costume is built from feathers, sequins and an oversized plumed headdress, richly embellished and deliberately larger than life, luring guests into a world of demons. Designed by Claire Loh.

Some cyborg models from Made in Hell: XL Robotics are also here.

USS Halloween Horror Nights 14 Showcase 10 Costume Display Spider Wraith from Necropolis The Serpents Crossroads

The Spider Wraith prowls Necropolis: The Serpent’s Crossroads at Ancient Egypt. An embodiment of predatory elegance, the costume fuses the sinister allure of an arachnid into something closer to dark couture, with regal ornamentation over a tar-like texture. Costume design by Khatijah Bte Mohamed Marican.

Your Turn to Transform

Seeing all these creative costumes might inspire you to dress up for Halloween Horror Nights 14. Costume rules remain the same as 2025, allowing guests to wear costumes that meet guidelines at HHN14. Costume masks are still not allowed.
