The first-ever HHN Horror Truck has brought a taste of life at Hell Block 9 to the streets. Find out more about this experience and see the newest additions at the park in Halloween Horror Nights 9: BEFORE DARK 3.
HHN9 Horror Truck
Adding much excitement to the HHN9 roadshows is a new Horror Truck Experience at select locations. This micro escape room lets you experience the tense prison life at Hell Block 9.
Unlike most escape rooms, this one has actual inmates from Hell Block 9. Once the doors are locked, you have 4 minutes to find clues within these dark prison cells. The inmates may not be that willing to help you escape. And remember this is Halloween Horror Nights. Good luck!
HHN9 Horror Truck is a free experience, although there might be a queue during peak periods. There is also an Instagram contest where you can win tickets to the event by taking a photo at the Electric Chair.

12-15 Sept (12pm-8pm): Bugis+
16-17 Sept (11am-4pm): NTU South Spine
18-19 Sept (11am-4pm): NTU The Hive
20-22 Sept (12pm-8pm): Mandarin Gallery
23-25 Sept: The Bull Ring area, beside the Universal Studios Singapore globe
Note: Horror Truck Experience may not be open throughout the day. Please check with the staff onsite for opening hours.

There are rules to abide, even when you’re just visiting a small section of Hell Block 9. Also beware, the Executioner might be making his rounds…
BEFORE DARK in the Park
Park Entrance
The black billboard from last year has returned at the park’s iconic arch.
The icons from this year’s Halloween Horror Nights have also showed up, welcoming park guests to the region’s premier scarefest.
Event icons have made appearances here in different ways, but this has been the most “3D” attempt.
Death Fest
We now make our way into the Death Fest scare zone.
Stunt equipment was recently added to the 2 pillars at the start of the zone. Looks like some scare actors may lean over the edge as part of their performance.
The ‘wheel’ scene now has a lot of body parts above. Also, spot these interesting hooks.
The ‘spiky’ stage has new details added. Hidden beneath the black cloth are either skulls or body parts.
There’s also a gigantic skull prop below, which you may have spotted in the earlier released concept art.
Here’s a closer look at the float that Savage, the lead singer of Death Trap, will be on during the Death Fest Live Procession around the park. Seems like it’s going to be manually powered.
Covers are off that big set piece, which now we know is an island of giant speakers.
The stage also received some of the chains, along with additional props for that death metal look. I wonder if the Death Fest will eventually transform into DEAF FEST. Lots of speakers overhead, and they’ve also added decorative chains to the steel frames above.
Despite having these massive scenic pieces, the Rhythm Truck show is still available at the park. The truck is still able to maneuver around the props and the two fiery pillars. While a Rhythm Truck-sized vehicle could be part of the Death Fest Live parade, I’m not sure if it could fit through the two arches at the Far Far Away zone.
Dead End
Somehow bringing life into the Dead End scare zone is the addition of half-dead plants and weathered elements.
Doesn’t it look more mysterious now?
Bodies, body parts and others.
A hanging, possibly rotating body above.
Several black birds now perch on the trees. Not sure what they are, but ravens are a symbol of The Undertaker.
It is possible that most of the major set pieces have arrived, and the park has less than two weeks to make sure everything looks as dead (or undead) as possible.
Lots of creepy things, still tightly wrapped.
Those baskets? Well now we know what they’ll be used for.
Haunted Houses
The queue entrance to Spirit Dolls is up, with two wooden pillars carved with the haunted house’s Japanese title, 呪いの人形 (literally Curse of the Doll). The area is adorned with round paper lanterns. I assume that at night, it would be creepy, like last year’s The Haunting of Oiwa.
