A Mega Despicable Summer at Universal Studios Singapore
From 1 July to 11 August 2024, experience MEGA-level fun at Universal Studios Singapore’s 2024 Summer event! As a tie-in to Despicable Me 4, you can enjoy shows and Meet and Greet experiences themed to the new movie, from MEGA Minions to being part of the Anti-Villain League.
A Mega Despicable Summer event offerings are available to all park guests during Universal Studios Singapore’s normal park opening hours. All you need is a regular park ticket to Universal Studios Singapore:

Mega Minions (New York street)
You can’t miss these MEGA Minion inflatables at New York! Mega Dave, who’s much taller and stronger than normal minions, is right at the entrance.
Watch out for Mega Mel‘s laser eye powers, which has cut through the event sign.
Flying high above and sometimes hard to spot is Mega Gus.
The indestructible Mega Jerry has bumped into a wall beside Lights, Camera, Action!
Mission: MEGA (New York stage)
Check out this all-new show at the New York Public Library stage.
The Anti-Villain League (AVL) is seeking volunteers for their groundbreaking Mega technology, which bestows super powers.
Pay attention to the show because who knows – you might get to volunteer! If chosen, you can step inside one of the test chambers and get a super power.
Otherwise, witness the creation of the other four Mega Humans. While this top-secret technology is incredible, there are still some small kinks to work out.
Unfortunately some careless incidents let to the technology getting stolen.
Can the supes, with their new-found powers, stop the tech from falling into the wrong hands?
With good teamwork and coordination, the crisis has been averted, and all is good at the AVL… for now. You can meet Kevin, Stuart and the Mega humans for photos at the stage.
I thought that Mission: MEGA was enjoyable as there were numerous funny moments, and the show didn’t drag on the same few gags. It’s a short show at under 10 minutes, which is just about right given the hot spell in Singapore.
Although I now also am thinking about this stage, and how much of it might be repurposed for Trick or Thrills 2024 and Halloween Horror Nights 12.
Minionvasion (New York street)
The AVL Minions have arrived at New York with their sharp blue suits, and taken over the streets!
With all 12 of them, this is probably the largest mob of minions (if you don’t consider the 2017 Minion Mob which comprises ‘human minions’)
There is a “show stop” for this performance – some guests will be invited to join in the mass dance with the minions.
Most importantly, after the “invasion”, you get to meet them all for photos at the AVL HQ stage!
Show Times for both Minionvasion and Mission: MEGA can be found beside the New York Public Library stage.
Meet and Greet with Gru’s Family
Don’t miss your chance to meet Gru’s Family (minus Gru Jr) at the Hollywood Lagoon stage.
This might also be the first time you can meet Gru’s Girls: Agnes, Edith, and Margo, in their standard non-seasonal outfits!
Gru and Lucy will appear in separate sessions, so remember to check the Meet and Greet times board beside the stage.
New Despicable Me 4 merchandise
New Despicable Me 4 (DM4) merchandise and toys can be found at Minion Mart and the Universal Studios Store.
The Special Seasonal Popcorn Bucket is Pit Crew Tom, available for $48 at Minion Mart and the Popcorn Cart in Hollywood. Also, you can also grab Minion Banana Popcorn during the event!
Apart from merchandise branded with Universal Studios Singapore, there are also some other Despicable Me toys released as tie-in with the latest film, Despicable Me 4.
BTS x DM4 merchandise collection is not available at Universal Studios Singapore.
Minion-themed treats
Minion-themed snacks and treats can be found all over the park during the Mega Despicable Summer event. Here are some of them:
Apart from adorable and IG-ready Minion Cupcake (S$10 each) and Minion Macaron (S$12 each), there’s also Gru Sundae (made out of the grey stuff?).
Meals wise, the adventurous ones can enjoy mega offerings: Mega Jerry Beef Taco Burger and Dave Double Beef Patty Burger with Strong Cheese! Both should be available at Mel’s Drive-In.
