This entry features select scenes from the Jack’s 3-Dementia Haunted House. If you’ve already been there and kept your Chromadepth 3D glasses, you can wear them as you read this entry for the 3D effect. It works, too!
Walking through Jack’s Mouth, we spotted several some clowns that have met their ends.
Cards and dice race around a twisted Wonderland, as we tempt our fates with lady luck.
The Queen gave us a cold welcome.
A killer clown bursts out of a wall, showing us the way.
Then, another clown, this one with bright pink hair greets us.. She lures us deeper into the maze..
Come, come!
… into a forest of madness.
Out of the woods, we quickly meet a nurse and doctor, offering us unnecessary medical attention.
Running away from them, we barge into a demented world of games and illusions.
A mirror maze of confusion.
It’s time… to play!
Why won’t you stay?
A dizzy tunnel of colours is the only way to escape from them.
But the respite is brief, as we finally meet Jack the Clown.
As we don’t intend to stay in the realms of Jack’s 3-Dementia, the last clown is not happy. at all.
About this haunted house
Jack’s 3-Dementia is a short haunted house, but it is a quality experience. The sets are colourful and there is much detail everywhere. As one walks through 3-Dementia, the sheer amount of madness increases and spirals (literally) out of control. Pity there is never enough time to enjoy it all. You’ll either be chased by clowns, or pushed by other park guests behind.
3D is not a new novelty, but when it comes to a full-length haunted house, Universal Studios Singapore has the bragging rights for being the first. And it’s not that sort of hurried job – actually, it’s stunning for an attraction that is here for a mere month, with some rooms having the quality you see in theme park dark rides. A concept – wild, whirlwind one that is – pulls all the well-produced sets and cast of freaky clowns together.
The sets have to be brightly lit to enhance the Chromadepth 3D effect. Hence, Jack’s 3-Dementia is less scary as compared to other haunted houses. Instead of the traditional mechanic of light and shadow, scares in this haunted house are devised using the confusing, illusory nature of the 3D effects. They work to conceal the surprises in every room, and are rather effective when the house isn’t cramped full of people.
