Singapore’s Most Haunted: ON AIR

This is the third of the Singapore’s Most Haunted series. We first explored the infamous red house, then a haunted HDB estate. This year, the hauntings bring us to an abandoned broadcast studio where Singapore’s darkest legends refuse to stay off the air.

Where previous editions of Singapore’s Most Haunted told a single story, this house brings us five. Show Director Ryan Wilson led the walkthrough, joined by Jia Jun, Cheryl and Kalis.

The studio shut down overnight after its main news anchor, Diana Saw, was killed on air. Everyone you meet inside is trapped by the TV Ghost, forced to reenact these stories on a loop so her strength keeps growing. Witness them, retell them, and you risk being pulled into the screen yourself.

Entrance and editing suite

You enter through the wreck of a van that has crashed into the editing suite, driven by a reporter returning from an assignment that did not end well. This is the room where Diana Saw’s final footage was being cut.

The dressing is period-accurate to the late ’90s and early 2000s, matching the era the studio went dark, and the room gives you a glimpse through into the newsroom beyond.

Newsroom

This is where Diana Saw died on air.

A doomed crew member pushes a lighting rig toward you, Diana sits at the news desk, and suddenly her spirit bursts out from inside it.

Silence on the set, please. But you’ll probably end up screaming.

The School

Studio four recreates a story of students taking revenge on an abusive teacher. Footage plays on a screen as you enter, the TV Ghost appearing within it.

Look around as you explore the studios. The ceiling structure is deliberately exposed, alongside camera props and flight cases, so the room reads as a studio recreating the event. Ryan pointed out that leaving the structure exposed as part of the scenic design is only possible because of how the Singapore soundstages are built, and is not something that can be done at every other HHN around the world.

The blackboard is dressed with a single line repeated down the board. Watch your step. The students are watching back.

Istana Mati

The last of the three stories previewed is Istana Mati, a white colonial house built by a family on cursed land, where every member of the family met a tragic end.

The goal was to bring the outdoors indoors, and it shows. A grand facade, landscaping, and an actual blood fountain. It’s like a haunted house in a haunted house.

Inside you meet the wife, who died falling from a balcony. Her body lies near the base of a carved staircase engineered to open like a drawer, and her husband emerges from within it to mourn her. Broken relics under white sheets mark how long the house has stood empty.

Even in this big house, filming equipment is still there if you look for it. We never left the studio, and the deeper we go, the tighter the TV Ghost’s hold gets.

Two more stories are in there that we have not seen yet, tied to the Yellow Tower and Devil’s Bend. The sign says the studio is still recording.

Made in Hell: XL Robotics

Set inside Soundstage 28, your adventure brings you deep inside this state-of-the-art robotics facility, where human lifeforce is being harvested in the pursuit of artificial immortality, sold to the billionaire elite.

Show Director Carina Hales led this walkthrough, with Haziq, Wobble and Ke Xin from the creative team.

When the rebels’ leader, Big Brother Hong, is captured for harvesting, his people launch an all-out assault to get him back. You arrive in the middle of it: walls blown open, alarms going, humans against machines.

Abandoned dockyard

The facility hides behind an abandoned dockyard. Five-metre walls and a worked ceiling make the soundstage feel far bigger than its footprint, and later rooms give you glimpses back into this one so the whole experience feels like a single continuous building.

Even in the first scene there are several details worth catching early: a high-tech security scanner that raises the question of what exactly is being protected, and graffiti reading “CEO Robot Freak”. The hole blown through the wall is where the rebels’ demolitions expert came in.

The showroom

This is where XL Robotics pitches immortality to its buyers, a perfect utopian future staged against the carnage of the battle now tearing through it.

A robot lunges out at you, forcing you through the showroom.

There’s blood on the walls, a robotic arm swinging through the space, and a human body caught in a claw.

The cyan neon is not just an aesthetic. It represents lifeforce, though the blood on the same walls says whose.

A rebel pushes you out of the showroom and into a vent shaft. It’s a nod to every sci-fi film where someone escapes through the ductwork. This is where they breach the wall into the inner sanctum.

Scattered through the shaft are custom 3D-printed humanoid robots, discarded by XL Robotics as not worth maintaining and left here to run down. The low hum you hear is their batteries dying. The floor here is also uneven, meant to disorient as you push deeper in.

Laser security room

The laser room is an HHN staple, reworked here. Instead of one hip-height plane there are two layered ones, which tightens the space considerably. The rails that usually sit beneath the lasers have been flipped overhead into hanging pipes, doubling as a route marker. Clever.

Life force harvesting

You’ve discovered the heart of the facility. The harvesting machine draws lifeforce out of its victims to fuel the product, with LED strips and a holographic effect rendering the extraction as you watch. But the CEO has a grander vision.

Next to it is the part that tells you how far ahead the CEO of XL Robotics is thinking. Harvesting the living only works while there are living people to harvest. So XL Robotics has started growing its own, a nursery of fetuses in tubes, each one a future extraction.

Behind the glass, one of the donors is still conscious. Long dark hair, blood across her face, and a look that lands somewhere between the Pontianak and something the facility made.
