Unravel the mystery of Augusta DeFeo with a forbidden tour of the Salem Witch House, but beware: wicked curses lurk at every turn.

Click to ExpandInspired by 1692 Salem Witch Trails and the very haunted house of Ronald DeFeo, Salem Witch House is the park’s first attempt at a ‘true’ Witch House. A certain Witch, Augusta DeFeo, has returned to hex all who dare venture into this cursed house.
Also known as Maison Deux-Six (House 26), this haunt venue rests at a backlot behind the Rockefeller Building facade in New York zone. Its massive queue surrounds the house, and the park did not waste budget to mask the white tent – just like many houses in the US parks’ events.
Throughout the house we meet a few ‘witchcraft enthusiasts’ – girls dressed in stereotypical Goth style. They are played by different performers, so you can spot them by their outlandish neon wigs throughout your tour.
The various backstories of the DeFeo witches are told across the rooms and hallways of Salem Witch House. We unfortunately have no idea how Augusta got her hair so big – perhaps it’s just full of secrets.
The second half of the house, which brings us across time and space, felt rushed. The park ought to use a bigger tent as there is still space on the lot, but likely budget was the key constraint. Still, a few transitional corridors could’ve helped with the pacing.
Interestingly, white contact lenses were worn by many characters in this haunted house. We don’t see much of this in the other four.
This Witch House is quite contraption heavy, with numerous animations, dramatic lighting effects, and even a pepper’s ghost illusion in the mix. There’s the usual spread of hidden doors, and with the decadent level of theming (for a haunted house), the scares are really effective. Do pace yourself and make some space from the groups ahead.

At the foyer, don’t miss a haunting portrait of Augusta.
Caught in a trance, the witchcraft enthusiasts are trying to call forth the witches of the past.
They actually succeeded, because the house promptly came to life. Or you know, Augusta has always been waiting in the darkness.
A banquet of horrors, possibly catered by the haunted Hawker Centre nearby.
The Goth girls quickly regretted their action, and sickly resident chased us to the upper level of the house.
Hauntings were all around the bedroom, along with peculiar objects.
Running through a balcony (look out below!), we thought the nursery room would offer respite. Of course not.
After seeing a demonic child, the path leads down to a dungeon below, where an executioner awaits.
Through a gate in the dungeon, we were transported into the Witch’s Realm, a land of blinding white.

Through another portal, we were brought into another time and place – the witch hunt.
Augusta, burnt at the stake – but she is completely impervious.
Nothing but gruesome endings for all who crossed the path of the Defeo witches.
We barely escaped from Augusta, through a cave in the forest.

Hi Dejiki! I have heard about the backstory of Augusta on Sentosa’s HHN6 updates on twitter. She has gotten her powers as a witch after sacrificing her newborn child to a horned demon, so I don’t think it’s a timeline. Just to let you know 🙂
