The 10th Edition of Tulipmania brings back the best elements of the original floral display at Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Dome.

From 29 April to 26 May 2024, Tulipmania is back at Gardens by the Bay for its 10th edition.

I first wrote about the original 2013 display, when it was billed as Singapore’s largest tulip show. In 2014 I had a chance to go behind the scenes and met Miffy days before the 2014 Tulipmania display launched. There was a fairytale concept for Tulipmania in 2015. We then went on several journeys, with Tulipmania Rediscovered (2016) to seek the flower’s Turkish origins. I skipped a few years after that, and the Tulips missed 2020 for obvious reasons.

Tulipmania returned in 2021 for another journey to find Its Wild Origins. Two years later, we went back to Turkey in 2023 to rediscover the Origins of the Tulip yet again.

Throughout the years, Tulipmania has been one of the most popular displays, attracting high crowds on weekends and holidays. Having a tulip giveaway on its first weekend made it more bustling.

This edition of Tulipmania features elements of traditional Dutch landscapes, while also using exhibits to highlight some modern advancements in the field of clean energy and urban farming in the Netherlands. Also found around the flowers are some scenic elements from past displays.

Over at the main field, it is an upgraded version of the original 2013 display – with tulips planted in rows of the same colour.

A small canal divides the field, and you can view the display from the bridge.

There are about 54,000 tulips of over 20 varieties in the 2024 display, promising breathtaking sights and beautiful photo opportunities!

On the right side of the main field, you can find an installation on Netherland’s Cut Flower Market, which makes for a nice photo backdrop.

The KLM Delft Blue House is on the left side, and inside you can marvel at the collection of minature Delft houses and take part in a lucky draw to win round-trip tickets to Amsterdam.

Lastly, don’t miss this charming pocket garden on your way out.

Flower Dome’s upcoming floral displays

The upcoming displays this year are Rose Romance (from June), Impressions of Monet: The Garden (from July), Carnival of Flowers (from September), and Christmas Train Show (from November).
