Overview and Thoughts

Nether-Land defies traditional scare zone expectations, even for Singapore’s Horror Nights event. Rather than focusing solely on scares, this zone offers an immersive and interactive experience, blending thrilling performances with a vibrant party atmosphere. At the HHN12 Press Conference, the park’s creatives even called it the party zone.

Instead of getting spooked while walking around, guests can interact with the cast of twisted ravers on the streets, dancing or taking photos together, all in a loud and energetic space with thrilling music. Get a taste of the experience in this video:

As a party zone, the park’s partnership with Tiger Soju is prominent featured on the stage’s LED displays, on some of the giant puppets, and there is this Twisted Bar area right in front of the stage. Available throughout the night for guests to “get twisted” and enjoy in Nether-Land: Tiger Soju Infused Lager in four fruity flavours.

While the zone offers thrilling shows later in the night, the overall atmosphere is more playful and interactive. The cast here, mostly as Under-ravers and DJs, are all dressed in costumes that are easy to move around (although some might seem a it too plain) given that they are to be always on the move.

The music only takes a brief pause during dramatic moments such as the three shows held on the stage, where the party zone’s dark and sinister side takes centerstage. And the key highlight is Ocu.lar’s Rave, where the zone’s icon, Ocu.lar, makes his grand appearance.

Ocu.lar’s Rave

Ocu.lar, the menancing overlord of Nether-Land, takes centerstage at the scare zone when he finally appears during the Ocu.lar’s Rave show.

In a tense standoff, Ocu.lar brutally slays DJ Deadbeatz in a gruesome spectacle.

He then harvests the DJ’s eyes, his signature move as the eater of eyes, stealer of souls.

Sinister beats pulse through all of Nether-Land, unleashing Ocu.lar’s malevolent influence as it takes hold on the crowd.

Hypnotized by his demonic power, the crowds is swept into a nightmarish realm of dark music.

In the grand finale, giant eyeballs descend onto the dance floor, causing further frenzy as the crowd is enthralled by the excitement.

The mastermind behind this spectacle revels in the chaos, as more souls will consumed by the darkness.

Nether-Land shows: Bewitched and Hypnosis

There are two other haunting shows taking place at Nether-Land stage, after Ocu.lar’s Rave at 9:45PM. Bewitched and Hypnosis will be on rotation, and the actual schedule will vary each night.

In Bewitched, DJ Elixir joins the company of voodoo ravers in a captivating and seductive dance performance. As the mistress of mixing, she unleashes music laced with bewitching spell – a hypnotic blend of pulsating beats and eerie melodies.

She invites the audience to surrender to the darkness, as she transforms the dance floor into a chaotic vortex, where all are lost in the intoxicating rhythm.

Nether-Land DJs and Under-ravers

The other characters in this zone are DJ N-Trance and DJ Deadbeatz. All three DJs play different genres of dance hits and remixes, cycling Nether-Land through distinctive dance scapes throughout the night.

Throughout the scare and party zone, the troupe of Under-ravers, dressed in unusual and dynamic costumes, will keep the undead dance floor alive.

Giant puppets can be found drifting around the zone, offering unique photo opportunities.

As you wander through the zone, you’ll encounter different ravers, from the sinister to the seductive. To fully experience the dark magic of Nether-Land, you must interact and dance with them.
