Overview and Thoughts
Under The Castle started in 2023 as a “concept space” in Shanghai, created by Jackson Wang and his fashion and lifestyle label, TEAM WANG design. The original event was more of a mix of Halloween-themed activities. This new haunted house in Singapore takes a more realistic, darker twist to fit it into the world of Halloween Horror Nights.
Despite its impressive scenic design, the house didn’t have a strong tale to tell. I expected a stronger connection to the Under The Castle comic book (which introduced the Castle, Spookie, and how Pumpkie came to be), and that the walkthrough experience would be a continuation of their adventures. But it didn’t quite turn out that way, unless there are more comic books yet to be released. It may very well be that it is Spookie going around possessing things (anything with glowing green eyes), and then there is nothing much to expand on. If there are any fans of Jackson Wang out there who can explain the haunted house, please do so and post a comment.
Nonetheless, you would see two horrifying manifestations of Spookie, and one unverified one of Pumpkie. The origins of the castle, its dwellers, the green glow are just kept unexplained. You would however, be constantly reminded that this entire thing is by TEAM WANG design, with banners all over inside and out. Even the Castle and its story is set in the land of “TEAM WANG design village”.
This is the largest haunted house at HHN12, but the park’s collaboration with TEAM WANG design was built with greater ambition, spreading across Resorts World Sentosa’s other attractions and hotels. The label’s merchandise, including new items exclusive to this partnership, are sold in two retail stores in the resort. Fans can also enjoy themed hotel packages with more exclusive collectibles. For fans of Jackson Wang, there are events happening: A comic book signing at S.E.A. Aquarium (on 13 Oct) and the Under The Castle After Party (also on 13 Oct) at Adventure Cove Waterpark. Jackson Wang will obviously be at the book signing event, and is likely making an appearance at Universal Studios Singapore on a different night, at his Castle, no less.
Mid-October Update:
During the weekend when Jackson Wang visited Resorts World Sentosa, the park added a photo backdrop wall near the Under The Castle haunted house. It was later autographed by Jackson Wang and his friends, Tyson Yoshi, Verdy, and Henry Cheung.

The wind howls as you walk through TEAM WANG design village, past abandoned carts and stalls filled with smashed pumpkins.
A villager warns you to turn back. No one has ever returned after stepping past this point.
As you approach the castle gates, a sleepy gargoyle awakens.
You enter the Great Hall, where a throne lies empty, but watched by plenty.
The throne awaits the return of a lost King.
A ruined hallway draws you into the castle’s armoury, where ghostly knights stand guard.
Onward to the Portrait Gallery, where paintings of royals, such as the Magic King, appear to come alive.
You find a store of pumpkins. A hunchback startles you from the back, leading you to the dungeons.
You tread carefully along shelves of occult items, and some of them start to glow, and move.
It’s Spookie behind all these mischief!
The path forward leads you deeper into the dungeons, where you find a few villagers that went missing.
A few were trapped and tortured, and they beg you for help.
You are misled into a crypt, where coffins break open to reveal beheaded corpses, and a glowing skeleton that has reanimated.
The castle, sensing that you have uncovered its secrets, is now shifting its hallways to trap you forever.
A crumbling tunnel is the only way forward. You hear a disembodied voice.
I’ve been waiting for you… This castle needs fresh souls…
Before its walls close in on you, you make a dash through the green tunnel as the ceiling starts to descend. Frightening specters emerge from the shadows.
A gigantic Spookie awaits you at the end, making its last attempt to claw you back.
You have survived your journey Under The Castle.

I want to believe that the “Green Glow” is a GOT7 reference since that is the official fandom color. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jackson slipped another reference or two in the house. I want to say GOT7’s “Not By The Moon” was a reference as well since in that video it’s very royal & prince-like with the members. It also features KING JACKSON sitting on a throne wearing a black crown, so maybe he’s the king they’re waiting for?
