2024 Scares @ Universal Studios Beijing – Event Highlights

From 7 September to 3 November 2024, Universal Beijing Resort is holding its Halloween-themed event, Scares @ Universal (“惊彩”环球). This year marks the second run of the event and… surprise! JACK is BACK – and he’s making his comeback at Universal Studios Beijing, the newest Universal Studios theme park!

Beijing has yet to adopt the Halloween Horror Nights branding for its Halloween-themed offerings, instead calling the event Scares @ Universal. The first event held in 2023 was widely considered to be a trial event, and the night-time line-up for 2024 is expanded to now include 3 original haunted mazes:

Jack’s Circus (杰克马戏团)

A mysterious and dangerous big top has landed at Universal Beijing Resort, helmed by Carn-Evil Masters, Jack the Clown and Chance. Revisit his past accomplishments in Singapore: 2016 Recurring Nightmare Circus, 2014 Nightmare Circus, and Jack’s 3-Dementia haunted house for a sample of what you can expect.

The entrance to Jack’s Circus can be found at Minion Land.

House No. 81 (81号公馆)

Explore Stage 81, where a horror film is being produced, and find yourself transported into the rooms and hallways of an actual haunted manor – House No. 81 – where there is no way out.

The entrance to House No. 81 can be found beyond the Transformers Metrobase.

Freaky Farm (惊奇农场)

The Freaky Farm from 2023 returns yet again, offering a thrilling misadventure in an outdoor maze ruled by the Pumpkin Demon. Like last year, this maze takes over the Universal Music Plaza Stage in the Hollywood zone.

2 Scare Zones

This year, you can experience two thrilling scare zones around the Hollywood zone which will be infested with clowns and zombies. Jack’s horrorifying carnival will also bleed into a scare zones, where you can enjoy (or run away) from gruesome acrobatic and circus acts.

Not-So-Scary Offerings

Due to intense content, the “Halloween Horror Nights” mazes and zones featured above are restricted to guests aged 13 and above. Guests aged 13 to 16 must be accompanied with an adult.

During the day (and non-HHN event days, see below), guests can interact with the Minions, Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws, and Winnie and Woody Woodpecker, which will all be decked out in their Halloween outfits for the season. Themed food and snacks can also be found around the park.

2024 Scares @ Universal Event Calendar and Hours

While the Halloween season runs from 7 September to 3 November, the 2024 “Halloween Horror Nights” event at Universal Studios Beijing is only available on select days of the week. Park hours are also adjusted.

SCARES AVAILABLE (Haunted Mazes, Scare Zones will be available)
Thursdays*, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays: 10:00AM to 10:00PM
* Except 3 October

SAFE DAYS (Haunted Mazes, Scare Zones will not be available)
Tuesdays, Wednesdays: 9:00AM to 8:00PM

During the Halloween season, the Universal on Parade show will be suspended.

Note: Whether you are buying park tickets via the Universal Beijing App or from an authorised travel agent such as Klook, you will need to input an identity document/ passport number for every ticket you wish to purchase. This also means the park tickets are strictly non-transferrable. If you require changes to your tickets due to unforeseen incidents, approach the Guest Services office at the Universal Studios Beijing entrance for assistance.
