Gardens by the Bay – Tribal Tempo

The first-ever South African floral display in Singapore has landed at Gardens by the Bay. Go on a tour through Tribal Tempo with us!

For the first time in a very long time, the Flower Field is designed with shorter patches, making the entire area feel very open and spacious.

A proud lion stands out from the field, which is bursting with colours and blooms from Africa. Of course, there are countless Proteas, the national flower of South Africa.

There are also exquisitely crafted animals all over.

A few uncommon varieties of Aloe trees are also brought in.

Outside of the Flower Dome, the Gardens’ Mid-Autumn Festival event is in full swing. Many activities to enjoy around the Supertree Grove area, along with large lanterns around the Gardens.

Lantern painting is one of the most popular activities here… although some lanterns seem more suitable for… Halloween Horror Nights.

There are those usual Mid-Autumn activities, such as ‘lantern riddles’.

Friends of the Gardens (Gardens by the Bay Annual Passholder Programme) offers exclusive activities throughout the year. For this season, there is a tea appreciation booth and a craft activity which is very popular. Members get to build and bring home a cute tea light holder. It takes about 10-20 minutes to do this.

Several giant lantern displays can be conveniently found around the Supertree Grove area, depicting Asian stories – including the most beloved legend of Chang Er and Hou Yi.
