Arabian Coast becomes beautifully lit with ornate lamps at night. Let’s take a walk around the streets of Agrabah.
After 7PM, this area of the park became strangely empty. The park closed at 10PM on day of visit.
That gave some good opportunities for photos without (too many) people.
Surprisingly, there were still long lines for Apu’s carnival games!
Casbah Food Court
We had dinner at the Casbah Food Court. I didn’t get a chance to visit this quick-service restaurant a decade ago due to long lines just to get in. We bought the curry buns at a food cart instead.
Casbah Food Court is ridiculously detailed. It feels like you have stepped into a real marketplace. Carpets and drapes hang off the ceiling, letting light in. The stalls are crammed with items – for sale and trade.
I remembered that this food court had several stalls offering a variety of Middle-Eastern dishes. You can see three distinct stall designs, yes?
Now all that’s left is curry. Seems like Flying Carpet Curry bought over its neighbours, which used to be The Noodle Charmer and Royal Tandoor.
This whole area now serves meals – curry with rice and naan. A special set is available for ¥1450 (30th Anniversary: 30-Spice Curry with Tandoori Chicken). The standard sets start from ¥760 (Chicken Curry), ¥840 (Shrimp Curry), ¥930 (Beef Curry), ¥990 (Triple Sampler Curry).
Just enjoy looking at this area.
Our Beef Curry with Rice and Naan set! (¥960, ~S$12).
We went into the nearest dining hall and it just looked outstanding.
Beautiful dining tables with in-laid tiles.
Seriously – Unbelievable decor for a quick service restaurant!
The alfresco dining area has a different set of furniture, but still similarly charming.
Here’s the main entrance to the Food Court.
Just so grand. This is one popular photo spot in the area.
The Palace section of Arabian Coast, of course, looks very magical at night. Over at the other end, the Jasmine’s Flying Carpets ride looks very much like a Halloween attraction with its strong red/purple/green lighting. Stick to the Palace and Marketplace sections of Arabian Coast!
Those who are into theme parks and thematic design would really appreciate how the lighting is executed in this area, as well as how the lights are all hidden away in the architecture.
Although there aren’t any attractions that are worth revisiting later in the day, Arabian Coast is a lovely place to relax in the evening. It’s a lot quieter and attractions have very short waiting times.
