Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase – Grand Opening & Carnival at New York

Mini Sesame Street Pinwheels

Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase is now officially open at Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World at Sentosa. With a light-hearted and silly storyline about missing spaghetti, this indoor dark ride brings guests on a space adventure to recover stolen pasta. To celebrate the grand opening of this new family-oriented attraction, Universal Studios Singapore is organizing a Sesame Street Carnival for the ride’s opening weekend (March 1st 2013 ~ March 3rd 2013).

I’ve already published a very in-depth ride review and information treasure trove about the ride two weeks ago. Be sure to read it!

As several readers wrote to me requesting for a trip report and photos of the Grand Opening and Sesame Street Carnival, I made a special trip to the park. Enjoy the photos!

Sentosa Flowers 2013

Sentosa Flowers 2013

Sentosa Flowers is back again, with Joys of Spring as this year’s theme. For the first time, the event is held along Palawan Beach, including the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia. Also a first: There is an admission charge of $5 ($4 if you buy tickets a day earlier).

I did not attend last year’s event, but I did back in 2011. It was held along Imbiah and some parts of Resorts World Sentosa. It was free before, which meant that there were too many people around.

Ocean Park Tower Views: Thrill Mountain and Polar Adventure

The Ocean Park Tower is a rotating observation deck attraction at Ocean Park Hong Kong. This slow and gentle ride brings guests up into the air – 200 metres above sea level, providing amazing views of The Summit area of the park, as well as the sea.

Incanto – behind the stage

Incanto, Festive Grand Theatre

I’ve been invited to a backstage tour at Festive Grand Theatre, the current home of Incanto. Together with other bloggers, we had a special look behind the scenes. We didn’t uncover any secrets to the stage illusions (of course not!) but we had encounters with some of the cast and crew, followed by a treat of the show itself.

Incanto has been showing since last November at Festive Grand Theatre, Resorts World at Sentosa. You can find my original full review here.

Hong Kong Disneyland: Flights of Fantasy parade

Jumpin' Jungle Jam - intro

It’s time for dreams and imagination to soar. With astounding floats, colourful costumes and joyous sounds, Flights of Fantasy parade is an uplifting spectacle that is guaranteed to delight park guests at Hong Kong Disneyland. This is Hong Kong Disneyland’s current regular day-time parade, and was first unveiled as part of the park’s 5th Anniversary campaign – “Celebration in the Air”.

The Magic of Pixie Dust - Tinkerbell

The parade combines classic and new Disney characters, with many segments relevant to the park’s attractions. The seven parade floats are: Mickey’s Magical Airship, Caught Up in Daydreams (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh), Romance Takes Wing (Disney Princesses), Jumpin’ Jungle Jam, The Magic of Pixie Dust (Tinker Bell), Hangin’ Ten and Ridin’ High (Lilo & Stitch), To Infinity and Beyond (Toy Story).

After the 5th Anniversary Celebration in the Air festivities, Flights of Fantasy continues to be performed daily at Hong Kong Disneyland. Elements referring to the 5th Anniversary (The number “5”) have been replaced with a “D” in Disney’s iconic typeface.

Flights of Fantasy feature vibrant and impressive floats – there are of course, an abundance of balloons, and balloon-like characters top off most of the floats. The parade also begins with a flying Dumbo (what else, really?) which is quickly accompanied with Mickey’s Airship. Everything is visually impactful – quite punchy colours and interesting forms.
