The Superstar Boutique and Superstar Café brings cinematic glamour with a uniquely Sanrio twist to Universal Studios Singapore! Get your first look inside the store and cafe here!
What is the Superstar Boutique & Café in USS?
The Superstar Boutique and Café is a whimsical retail experience that blends in Sanrio’s classic charm with the golden age of cinema. This dual-concept experience visually mimics a cinema, with marquee signage, curtains and even a box office – transporting you into a playful space where you can dine and shop while immersed with iconic Sanrio characters.
You can visit this store inside Universal Studios Singapore with a park ticket.

The store is also home to the Universal Studios Singapore Exclusive Sanrio line, a collection that first debuted in the 2025 holiday season.
What is the USS Exclusive Sanrio Signature Blue Collection?
The Universal Studios Singapore exclusive collection features Sanrio characters in a signature deep blue and gold colour palette. Items include plush toys (S$35), cushions (S$40), plush keychains (S$28) and headbands (S$25).
While the USS Exclusive Sanrio Collection would be a draw for local fans and collectors, the rest of the store is loosely divided into character-led zones for Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinamoroll, and Pompompurin.
Also launched recently is the Pompompurin American Diner collection, which you can also find at the Universal Studios Store.
The park has also consolidated headwear and hair accessories at this wall for easy browsing!
And also the full collection of plush keychains at the check-out counter, if you could resist the temptation of bringing them home…
One of my favourite merch in the store is the Hello Kitty plush toys dressed in outfits inspired by classic Universal films: E.T., Jurassic Park, and JAWS.
Apart from Universal Parks exclusives, there is also a selection of rarer items (including some usually only sold in Japan) made available in the Superstar Boutique.
You can also find some Kandyland Sanrio collectibles here.
Beyond just shopping, the Boutique also offers beautiful spaces for you to snap photos in!
There are also sculptures of the USS-exclusive designs in the Boutique: Hello Kitty with Clapperboard and My Melody with a Camera.
Now let’s go check out the cafe that’s right next door.
Directly across from the boutique, the Superstar Café offers quick, high-aesthetic treats, also in its quirky and unique cinema setting. While there are only a few standing tables, the menu is clearly crafted for the “camera-first” crowd.
What’s on the Menu at the Sanrio Superstar Café in USS?
Sanrio Bombolone ($9.50 each): These fluffy, filled donuts are the menu’s anchor, featuring character-specific flavors like Raspberry, Blueberry, Apple Cinnamon, plus Mango and Strawberry.
Swiss Rolls ($10): The Kuromi Black Sesame & Vanilla and the My Melody Lychee & Rose. Also available: Hello Kitty Strawberry Delight ($10), a strawberry shortcake topped with a chocolate made like Hello Kitty’s iconic bow.
My choice of beverage here would be the slushie drinks – great for a day at a sunny park like Universal Studios Singapore. Pick from the My Melody Popping Lemon Fizz or Hello Kitty Green Apple Freeze. $11.50 each.
Character Lattes are also available ($10 hot, $11 cold): Served with character-branded foam art (for hot drinks), and a chocolate pretzel stick or cinnamon stick. These are available in Caramel (Pompompurin), Vanilla (Cinanmoroll), and Dark Chocolate (Kuromi).
As mentioned earlier, the whole cafe space is really designed for photos, including the presentation of its F&B offerings. It’s quite likely that you’ll want to pair a sweet with a drink, and the park offers the combo at S$18.
Thank you to Universal Studios Singapore for providing these treats to the media!
Is there Meet and Greet at the USS Superstar Boutique?
As part of the boutique experience, characters like Hello Kitty and Pompompurin will make “Superstar” entrances at Universal Studios Singapore. You can find them just outside the shop at this signature pink wall!
Check the USS Park App or the board here for Meet and Greet timings!
Before we move on, some of my thoughts: This new store marks a new pivot for USS with the creation of a space that appeals to both the Sanrio collector and the casual visitor looking for an instaworthy snack and immersive space for great photos. Overall, it feels like a polished, well-themed addition that gives the beloved IP a more permanent home worthy of their superstar status.
For those who are interested in theme park trivia – this space used to be Superstar Candies when Universal Studios Singapore first opened in 2010. It was just selling candies and IP-branded sweets. It then reopened as Minion Mart from 2014, a dedicated store themed to Despicable Me until Minion Land finally opened with its new Minion Marketplace store in 2025.
What is happening to the USS Hello Kitty store across the street?
That’s the Hello Kitty Studio store. At this time, it is still open with the Hello Kitty & Dear Daniel collection being featured in the main display.
Did we also forget that there’s a Gudetama Shop right beside it? Perhaps it is time for the shops on the other side of the street to undergo a much needed overhaul, together with Hollywood China Bistro.
Going by best practices from Universal Studios Japan, I hope that there are plans to open the Mario Cafe & Store experience ahead of the opening of Super Nintendo World in Singapore.
Meanwhile, let’s enjoy Superstar Boutique & Café!
