Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase – Grand Opening & Carnival at New York

Mini Sesame Street Pinwheels

Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase is now officially open at Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World at Sentosa. With a light-hearted and silly storyline about missing spaghetti, this indoor dark ride brings guests on a space adventure to recover stolen pasta. To celebrate the grand opening of this new family-oriented attraction, Universal Studios Singapore is organizing a Sesame Street Carnival for the ride’s opening weekend (March 1st 2013 ~ March 3rd 2013).

I’ve already published a very in-depth ride review and information treasure trove about the ride two weeks ago. Be sure to read it!

As several readers wrote to me requesting for a trip report and photos of the Grand Opening and Sesame Street Carnival, I made a special trip to the park. Enjoy the photos!

The Art of the Brick presents a stunning collection of brick creations by Nathan Sawaya, famed LEGO artist (and LEGO Master Builder) from New York. Marine Life Park: Adventure Cove Waterpark – review

DSC08035

Step into a tropical paradise at Adventure Cove Waterpark, a part of Marine Life Park at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS). Filled with mysteries of the ocean and splashing fun in the sun, this Waterpark also offers its guests opportunities to immerse in marine habitats. In the near future, interaction programmes with Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins will be made available.

Update 20/11/2012: Marine Life Park will soft open on 22/11/2012. Both S.E.A. Aquarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark will be open to the public.

Here is my review and photo tour of Adventure Cove Waterpark, the “wet” and outdoors aspect of Marine Life Park. You can also view my aerial photography series covering the construction of Adventure Cove Waterpark here.

Incanto – a quick review

Incanto-Logo
Incanto Logo © Resorts World Sentosa

Mere months after the end of Voyage de la Vie‘s record run, Resorts World Sentosa announced a new show to grace the Festive Grand theatre. Billed as a theatrical magic spectacular, Incanto is truly a spectacle – 90 minutes packed with heart-stopping action, and bewildering illusions.

I caught the show last week during the opening weekend. Here is my (hopefully short) review of Incanto.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition – review

I read the Harry Potter books during my teenage years. J.K. Rowling’s writing, simple yet enchanting, has always brought me to the Wizarding World, even after countless re-reads.

I was very excited to hear that Harry Potter: The Exhibition will be shown in Singapore. Partly because I was working on a group project – an advertising campaign for the ArtScience Museum. The scope of Harry Potter allowed me to design A LOT – practically anything can be adapted from the Harry Potter universe into marketing materials.

A few months later, Harry Potter: The Exhibition opened at ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands. For the first time in Asia, this travelling exhibition features props and costumes from the Harry Potter film series, including a first-ever complete set of Horcruxes.

Featuring artifacts in settings inspired by the film sets, go on a journey through the famous wizard’s world and experience first-hand all the wonders of Hogwarts™ such as the Gryffindor™ common room, Hagrid’s hut, and the Great Hall. Along the way you can pull a Mandrake from its pot, toss a Quaffle in the Quidditch™ area, and encounter centaurs, Buckbeak™ the Hippogriff and a giant Acromantula spider in the Forbidden Forest.
On display for the first time in Asia, Harry Potter: The Exhibition features all your favorite costumes and props like Harry’s wand and eyeglasses, Hermione’s Yule Ball gown, the Golden Snitch™, the Marauder’s Map and so much more.

Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure

Universal Studios Singapore – Update 01/2012
This entry is part of the monthly series covering updates at Universal Studios Singapore.

JP Entrance

After its lengthy maintenance and enhancement works, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure has finally reopened – ready to pit guests right into the dangerous gaping jaws of dinosaurs and push them over the edge… into a soaking splash.

Unique to Universal Studios Singapore is a river rafting edition of Jurassic Park’s popular adventure rides. The other three Jurassic Park rides are known as “River Adventures”. While Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure lack the dramatic, breathtaking vistas and an elaborate indoor segment that River Adventures are well-known for, it makes up with unpredictable and thrilling rafting maneuvers. The ride was closed from 10 August 2011 till 20 January 2012 for extended refurbishment.

So anyway, this comprehensive update entry features a photo tour of the queue, loading area and splashdown of this attraction, as well as a list of changes that I have observed (to the best of my ability).
