Bulgari SerpentiForm exhibition

Bulgari SERPENTIform exhibition at ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands - entrance

Delve into a world of snakes at Bulgari SERPENTIform – a gripping exhibition now showing at the ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

Bulgari SERPENTIform exhibition at ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands - projection mapping golden scales

Unlike the other high jewelers and luxury brands that have staged similar exhibitions, Bulgari’s exhibition is slyly designed – mimicking the snake that it is celebrating. Upon arrival, the experience starts with glittering walls of golden scales, with the projection of slithering snakes made from precious metals and stones. Certainly a mesmerising effect.

The scales wrap around the central glass column of the museum, establishing the grandeur of the snake motif. The art displayed starts off simple, historic, and gradually takes on more enthralling forms, and slowly, visitors are coiled up in its world. Novel pieces and presentation, with an air of trendy music builds up the pace. It all culminates to the dazzling finale – the largest gallery, bursting with projected fire, with bejewelled snakes drifting in the erupting lava – revealing an incredible collection of Bulgari’s Serpenti high jewellery.

Whether you’re a Bulgari client (or like the majority of us, not!), the exhibition is worth a visit just for the experience alone. The exhibition is overall, very well-produced. There is an extensive collection of anicent and modern art, reflecting the timelineness, and obsessions over this creature. The only thing I felt was missing was some exhibits covering the Maison’s craftsmanship – but I guess, since it’s Bulgari after all, it has always been the narratives of its symbols and their creation – not so much on the actual manufacture.

Enjoy the photos.
