Uncover Treasures of the World from The British Museum at the National Museum of Singapore!
Showing some of the world’s finest treasures at the basement gallery of the National Museum of Singapore, Treasures of the World celebrates over two million years of culture and history.
The exhibition begins with the Stone Handaxe, the oldest artefact on display. Its age is close to a million years.
The Treasures of the World are presented non-chronologically for most part. Since it’s about artefacts from different parts of the world, the central foyer connects to smaller regional collections.
The Asia section includes pieces from the personal collection of Sir Stamford Raffles, such as a kris.
One last world – The Modern World – has a small collection of contemporary pieces. Don’t miss Iskandar Jalil’s exceptional pottery pieces.
