Embark on high-flying adventures at Canopy Park, a giant playground amidst lush greenery at the Level 5 of Jewel Changi Airport.
The top level of Jewel is an expansive playground attraction with seven play attractions surrounded with gardens. If you’ve been to the Jewel Preview, you might have walked around some parts of the Canopy Park.
Welcome to Canopy Park
Your admission ticket to Canopy Park will include access to the park itself and the Discovery Slides, Foggy Bowls, Petal Garden and Topiary Walk. The other ticketed attractions, such as the giant hanging nets, the bridge overlooking the Rain Vortex, are separately charged.
You can also buy a bundle that includes some or all of the attractions that Canopy Park has to offer, and you can also add to the Changi Experience Studio at Level 4 to your ticket. Scroll down for more details.
Whether you’re going on the ticketed attractions or not, Canopy Park, offers respite from the crowds and bustle from the lower floors of Jewel. The Rain Vortex is always peeking through the trees and metal pillars holding up Jewel’s famous glass roof.
The park has a few gardens and during the preview I managed to see the Topiary Walk, Foggy Bowls while finishing touches were being added to the Petal Garden.
Float about the cloud-like mist at the Foggy Bowls area.
Discovery Slides is a massive metal sculpture that offers a few “free” rides.
Even if you don’t feel like sliding down, climb on up for an incredible view of the entire Jewel complex at the top.
View of Jewel’s Rain Vortex from the highest point.
There are a few ways you can come down – pick a slide and go! Or would you rather climb down?
There are two metal spiral slides (rather fast) and two other slides you can try. You’ll need to gear up for one of the yellow slides – it is almost a vertical drop.
Canopy Park’s ticketed attractions
The other attractions are not included in the basic ticket to Canopy Park. But tickets to either the Manulife Sky Nets, Hedge Maze or Mirror Maze will also include admission to Canopy Park and the attractions listed above.
Hedge Maze
Lose yourself and a lot of time at the Hedge Maze, which is probably going to be the next popular photo hotspot at Jewel.
There are a few surprises in here – moving gates, little bits of animated gardens and some unusual noises. Just try to make your way to the viewing deck.
Mirror Maze
If the Hedge Maze was too easy, then you might enjoy the Mirror Maze a bit more. Pool noodles provided to help you find your way… and not walk into the mirrors.
Hanging plants creeping into the dizzying hallways of mirrors is a cool touch here.
When it’s less crowded, it’s much more challenging.
Your journey transits into darkness, where kaleidoscopic patterns light the way forward.
Manulife Sky Nets – Bouncing
And now, the things that everyone’s probably talking about. First we have a pair of hanging nets, now known as the Manulife Sky Nets.
Here you’ll need to keep your bags and loose items inside the lockers nearby. The lockers are quite small and can fit in small bags only. Most backpacks and larger bags won’t fit (unless they’re empty and you can fold them in). You’ll need to leave them, along with any luggage and wheeled bags, at Baggage Storage. Probably a good idea to visit Canopy Park attractions before doing any major shopping around Jewel.
You’ll also need to wear covered shoes (and comfortable clothes to move around) to enjoy the Sky Nets.
Once you’re ready, and after a safety briefing, you’re free to hop in and start jumping around!
The Bouncing side of the Manulife Sky Nets has a few really springy open areas where you often feel weightless and can never stay still. There’s so much energy from your fellow visitors that the nets will keep on bobbing about!
One of the lower net areas became a popular rest spot because it’s near the air conditioning vents. Catch your breath here – the whole Bouncing adventure is 250m long.
Each area is connected by these net corridors that also jiggle and bounce as you waddle along.
There is one spot that’s quite nice – it’s the net that overlooks the Rain Vortex and the rails of the Changi Airport Skytrain connecting Terminals 2 and 3.
Another way to leave this net in style: Slide down!
At one point the Bouncing Sky Nets crossover with its Walking sister attraction.
Manulife Sky Nets – Walking
The Manulife Sky Nets – Walking offers another kind of heart-pumping excitement. This massive net dangles over five floors of Jewel at several spots. Look out below!
Unlike the Bouncing Sky Nets that has a lot of rebound, the Walking side is much more taut and stable. The net is slightly spaced out apart and there’s also another layer of fine neeting so your foot won’t slip through.
View from one of the tallest spots of the web!
If you have fear of heights… better not look down.
But if you’re fearless, you can sit along the side and enjoy a view – upwards or downwards. And wave hello.
Canopy Bridge
Want the best view of the Rain Vortex? Walk along the 50m long glass bridge that offers magnificent views of Jewel’s architectural features. This is the only ticketed attraction that doesn’t include admission to Canopy Park.
At the very center of the bridge, you can look straight down to the first level, or gaze forward to see the Changi Control Tower rising from the top of the Rain Vortex.
Canopy Park Attractions – video tour
Here’s a video tour of the various attractions at Canopy Park!
After all the fun at Canopy Park, you might want to explore the Changi Experience Studio at Level 4.
