The Egg Lord returns to Universal Studios Singapore in the Royal Lunch at Eggingham Gardens, an all-new show as part of Easter Eggstravaganza. Meet the Royals of Eggingham Palace in this special update!
Royal Lunch at Eggingham Gardens is this year’s new show for Universal’s Easter Eggstravaganza. By request of the park fans and performers, the show’s segment in the Easter blogpost has been expanded into this feature article, with new photos and video clips!
It is a story about a whimsical Royal Lunch hosted by the outlandish Egg Lord, who recently rose into royalty. Still a comedian at heart, he scrambles to fit in the ranks in the Palace – the luncheon is no exception, exploding with all sorts of slapstick mishaps.
This ‘Lunch’ is a stage performance inside Soundstage 28. To lead guests into that place, there is a little pre-show. It is similar to last year’s Santa’s Toy Soldiers show, but now the ‘march’ is in reverse, leading guests away from the New York Library this time.
The Egg Lord glides along New York street using his Hot Egg Balloon – the most regal way to travel in Eggingham, it seems.
As The Egg Lord dances and spins in the air, the Herald leads the guests in a march towards Eggingham Gardens.
Outta my way!!
Cravats – unsuitable for running.
(This looks like a selfie.)
The entrance to Eggingham Gardens (Soundstage 28) is located next to Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase. Mind the steps!
The park allows guests to wait at the area outside the Soundstage (while the Flying Balloon act is happening). Stick around there if you want to get a good viewing spot without having to run about.

A few minutes in and the butlers were already goofing about.
With guests arriving soon, everyone had to rush and jostle about. The motley crew barely made it in time!
And they’re ready to receive the guests for the Royal Luncheon!
The Duke and Duchess of Yolk
Six more new characters are added in this show – and they are as whimsical as The Egg Lord – which is, like I’ve described last year, someone who is both Willy Wonka and the Mad Hatter, at the same time. You’ll see.
Prince Runny, the Herald and Princess Sunny
Lady Florentine and Lord Benedict
The Egg Lord finally arrives to start the Royal Lunch, with a new headdress this time.
His royal guests quickly found his move to Eggingham Palace an odd one, so the Egg Lord told a tall tale, with the help of his staff.
He was quick to amuse some of his guests, but his actions spur the anger of Lady Florentine.
“This is not befitting of Royal Lunch!”
Not amused with the crass antics of the Egg Lord and his staff, Lady Florentine breaks into song (Lorde’s Royals).
But you’ll never be Royal (Royal~)
It doesn’t run in your blood!
You’re just a common kind of man,
from a different kind of class!
“Excuse me. You people are eggs-cruciating! There I said it.”
The Egg Lord urges his guests to forget the high air of royalty and have fun – Shake It Off!
With all that shaking, Lady Florentine’s dress falls off, revealing her bright blue bloomers.
Now that her strict, matronly face has cracked, she goes off to sing about how she’s All About That Bass.
The grand finale is a massive Dancing in the Streets sing-off.

a.k.a. Royal Rumble at Eggingham Palace 2015
Royal Lunch at Eggingham Gardens is about 25 minutes long (plus a 3+ minute pre-show march from New York Library). It is certainly an entertaining show, and the twists on well-known pop songs will definitely charm and split sides.
Perhaps in the future, the park could move the show into Pantage’s Hollywood Theater so that every guest could get comfortable and have a good view. After all, this show is as elaborate as the 2014 Christmas show that started off as a street show at New York. So who knows, the Royal Lunch might get an upgrade next year.
After the Royal Lunch, guests can stay around the Gardens to meet the characters. There are two groups of characters to take photos with!
