Visit Emerald City from the world of Wicked
Let us rejoicify with good news – Emerald City at Universal Studios Singapore looks and feels amazing, with several photo spot sets and Meet and Greet experiences.
Every way that you look in this city, there’s something exquisite. You’ll want to visit before the day’s through.
These postcards just feel like they just belong.
This is perhaps the park’s most fantabulous effort in theming New York street for a non-Halloween event. It even has the Wicked film score playing all day – a feeling some might find altogether quite impossible to describe! Much braverism for bringing it to such grand levels, especially when it’s going to be here for a short holiday season.
Take a break (and a few pastries) at The Hot Air Café, where you can Float on In.
Get Galinda-fied with a makeover at The Emerald Beautification Salon.
Or just rest on a salon chair for now – don’t dream too far.
The grand stage is where you can meet characters from the musical blockbuster (unfortunately, there are no Wizomania shows this season…)
Wicked Meet and Greet at Universal Studios Singapore
Oh what a celebration we’ll have today! You can meet Glinda and Elphaba at the stage.
Have a celebration the Glinda way! You can dress up in Wicked-themed colours, or get a mini makeover at The Emerald Beautification Salon.
Anyway, the iconic witches of Wicked enter Emerald City from separate doorways, each distinctively themed for them.
It’s good to see them together, isn’t it? The miracles of theme park magic!
Before departing, Glinda will cast a spell, filling Emerald City with a blissful sight.

The middle door opens to reveal the great and powerful Wizard of Oz.
Step forward and ask the Wizard questions (or a wish). Heed his advice, if offered.
Even if you only have One Short Day at Emerald City, there will be times where you can meet The Emerald City Citizens. These Ozmopolitan residents of Oz makes the city alive and welcoming!
With these experiences, Emerald City is perhaps the most surprising experience of 2024 – the other Universal Parks only mostly simple Meet and Greets for Wicked.

In the window, the costumes of The Wizard and Madame Morrible from the films are on display.
Pink goes well with Green, but you can see all the Wicked items curated by colour at the display.
Step inside to get the actual items, which also includes dolls and Funko Pops from the movie.
Santa’s Magical Mechanical World
It’s Christmas with a Steampunk twist! Hollywood has transformed into Santa’s Magical Mechanical World, and you can enjoy the Tinker Time Christmas show at the mechanical Christmas tree.
Like a typical Sesame Street episode (and theme park story trope), something rather-harmless happens and it’s up to everyone to work together to make things work again. It’s a short and sweet show that also reintroduces Sesame Street to the lagoon stage.
The show ends on a high note, switching to a Meet and Greet session with the cast. At other times, characters from Kung Fu Panda (Po and Master Tigress) and Madagascar (King Julien, Gloria and Alex) will also make their appearances here.
The mechanical theme extends to the rest of Hollywood, which looks a touch more elaborate than last year’s. But perhaps more effort and budget went into building Emerald City.
DreamWorks Animation Holiday Spectacular (Far Far Away castle)
After a successful run for the Night Terrors show at Halloween Horror Nights 12, Far Far Away castle has a new projection show, DreamWorks Animation Holiday Spectacular, with characters and moments from Shrek, Trolls, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon.
Visually, it is a cute and amusing show. I had expected iconic songs and motifs to evoke memories and moments from the films featured; those who have seen typical Castle shows would know what I mean. Instead, the soundtrack was rather generic, but there would always be challenges in using music from the films.
The show runs every 15 minutes from 7:30PM until the park closes.
Lake Hollywood Spectacular Christmas Edition
Also known as Lake Hollywood Christmas Fireworks, the park’s lagoon fireworks show with a holiday theme will be back for the season with showtimes at 9PM on these dates:
29 Nov, 7, 14, 20, 21, 23-29 Dec 2024*
*Dates and Showtimes are subject to change. Show may be cancelled in poor weather conditions.
Minion Land Update
While waiting for the fireworks show, some lights at Minion Land suddenly switched on, offering us an early peek of how Minion Land could look like at night.
