Start 2026 with a splash! For the very first time in Southeast Asia, the endearing Sanrio character half-fish Hangyodon has a pop-up cafe in Singapore at Wong Fu Fu!

Hangyodon, the quirky half-fish, half-human friend known for his derpy look and endless optimism, was first introduced in 1985. After a successful marine discovery experience at the Singapore Oceanarium, he is now bringing his signature blue charm and best friend, Sayuri the octopus, to Wong Fu Fu restaurant at North Bridge Road.
Fans can expect to be immersed by a tide of Hangyodon-inspired decor all around the restaurant, which will offer a Hangyodon-themed pop-up promotion menu from 7 January 2026 for two months. It’s sort of like a Pop-Up Cafe!
The special Hangyodon pop-up menu at Wong Fu Fu offers a total of 3 main dishes, 8 sides (snack boxes), 6 different drinks – all playfully themed to this half-merman. Here’s what I got to try at the media preview:
Hangyodon’s Favourite Chilled Ramen (S$23.90), a refreshing bowl of cold noodles with a mini smoked duck salad and souvenir Hangyodon toy!
Hangyodon’s Ocean Feast (S$24.90) – pea flower-infused rice submerged in creamy chowder cream sauce with cutely cut vegetables, accompanied with a basket of fried seafood. This is my favourite dish!
The themed drinks are decorated with Hangyodon. Choose from iced drinks such as the Ocean Friend Strawberry Field Matcha Latte (S$12.90) above, or hot staples like Seaside Hot Café Latte (S$10.90) with printed foam shown below.
Bubbling Fun Hangyodon Swiss Roll (S$14.90) – This Hokkaido milk Swiss roll is bursting with bubblegum-flavoured fresh cream, so you can finish your dining experience with something sweet!
Around the restaurant, the tables and walls are decorated with Hangyodon overlays, and there are numerous plush toys for you to play and pose with! After all, this is a place to dine with Hangyodon.
You can also pick up some merchandise at the restaurant, from small accessories to blind boxes!
