POP MART has officially unveiled the “Upgraded” store at Funan mall in Singapore, moving to a significantly larger location on the same level. The move marks an exciting new chapter for the store which originally made history by opening as Southeast Asia’s and Singapore’s first official POP MART flagship store, back in January 2021.
While online shopping for POP MART products has expanded and improved over the years, the thrill of visiting a physical store for the tactile “shake and feel” of the blind boxes and the hunt for rare ‘secret’ or ‘chase’ figures remains unmatched.
The redesigned store, which feels like a bit like an Apple store, but still distinctively quirky in POP MART’s way. It’s much better than the old store which feels like shopping in Diagon Alley because everything is just… everywhere. During the media preview event on 5 Dec 2025, the store was packed despite being closed to the public – so you can imagine there might be a queue to enter the store if it gets too crowded.
I loved that the redesign includes dedicated, character-specific displays and shelving. Grouping entire series together makes hunting so much easier, but be warned: this seamless browsing is absolutely designed to encourage impulse purchases!
Whether you’re a casual collector or die-hard fan, it’s much more enjoyable to see all the products put together like this, rather than jumbled around, although it remains to be seen if this can be sustained when more seasonal and one-off IP products are launched in the future.
This is the first store that I’ve seen a fully coordinated Twinkle Twinkle display, featuring the adorable character that is rising in popularity.
Despite the recent increase in online availability for sought-after, clear-boxed plush pendants, the new Funan store has several hot-favourite plush pendants and hanging cards (while stocks last). This includes the LABUBU HIDE AND SEEK IN SINGAPORE SERIES – Vinyl Plush Doll Pendant, also known as the Merlion Labubu, or merbubu. The store appears to have the batch with white tags at this time.
The main display at the entrance is showcasing the festive collection, with scented candles and the ‘Apple of My Eye Series’. A handful of the Twinkle Twinkle Gift Box were available during the invite-only preview, ahead of the official opening on 6 Dec 2025.
There is even a wall with panels describing some of POP MART’s most beloved series.
The spacious new POP MART Funan store welcomes visitors to explore its enhanced displays and extensive collection. During the opening weekend, access to the store on 6 Dec 2025 is limited to confirmed reservations only, which must be made via POP MART Singapore’s website. No walk-ins will be allowed, and there will be a shopping time limit of 20 mins. At time of writing, all slots are fully booked but there may be more availability released throughout the day.
