Savour sweet surprises at Universal Studios Singapore’s Chocolate Adventure park event! We’ve got the scoop covered in our park update.
In place of Easter events from past years, Chocolate Adventure will take place at Universal Studios Singapore. The main highlight is Chocolate Garden, a walkthrough attraction in Soundstage 28.
So first, some quick facts before you lose yourself in the photos:
Chocolate Adventure
- 28 April –
28 May11 June 2017 - Admission to Chocolate Garden is included in park admission.
- Marshmallow dips at the Chocolate Fountains, free for a limited time
- New characters to meet and greet.
- Separate charges apply for workshops.
- Special choco-themed food all over the park, not free of course.
Chocolate Garden
The Chocolate Garden features three thematic areas, Fondue Garden, Lollipop Land, and Cocoa Hedge Maze.
Fondue Garden offers free-flow chocolate dips for marshmallows, from the usual white, milk varieties… to more adventurous sorts like Pandan and Strawberry chocolate.
If you didn’t grab free marshmallows from the park, you can buy a pack of 2 pieces for $1 inside Chocolate Garden. That’s kinda pricey, so try to collect enough free marshmallows from park crew outside the Garden. I’ve seen people circling around outside grabbing more than 5 packs of free marshmallows, so don’t be shy about it.
Ummm.. Where’s the way out?
At the Cocoa Hedge Maze, you can meet some of the original characters created for this event, such as Mama Cookie, Cupcake Candice, and Chef Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. You might find free chocolate lying around too.
Mama Cookie – She created everything at Chocolate Garden.
Candice Cupcake – Mama Cookie’s sweetest creation.
Cookie Monster and Universal’s ‘Chocolate Man’
Another new character is the ‘Chocolate Man’. Actually, he or she is a USS crew member wearing a “Are You Looking For Me?” pin or patch on their uniform.
No, it’s not even this guy. Three types of ‘Chocolate Man’ can be found anywhere at the park throughout the day, and the prizes are F&B, Retail vouchers, and even Park Passes! So you may want to find a particular… okay, let’s not spoil the fun.
Chocolate Man Hunt mini-game
When you find a ‘Chocolate Man’, approach them and say/ shout “Got You, you are the Choco Man!” to claim your spoils.
At Lollipop Land, artsy visitors can decorate their own giant (inedible) lollipop and plant their creations here.
Come on in!
Cupcakes and Cookies workshops are held at Mama Cookie’s kitchen. Here, actual chefs will guide participants in decorating their own cupcakes and cookies. Of course, everyone will be able to bring their sweet creations home! Separate charges apply for these workshops, at $6 per person per session. Children with annual/ season passes to the park can enjoy one session for free.
Hello, please remain seated during the workshop.
It’s more fun than Candy Crush…
Get ready for some sugar rush.
The entrance to Chocolate Garden is beside Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase. Park crew members may be distributing free marshmallows around this area.
Chocolate-inspired food, drinks and more
Cocoa lovers rejoice! A bewildering selection of desserts are added to the park’s restaurants:
It is what it is.
Ah, that’s not too bad.
Hmm. “Chocolate Curry”??
Fried Chicken with Chocolate? For the brave perhaps.
Gamble with high stakes: Nutella and Cheese Fries.
Some of the menu items can be purchased as part of the ‘Sweet Tooth Package’, where three participating items can be redeemed for $20.
Updates from around the park
Editor’s Note: As the park’s development is quieting down, we won’t be posting Monthly Park Updates until there is a real need for it (such as Halloween season, or the construction of much-requested-moneyspinner-but-still-not-happening The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Singapore). Instead, small updates will come together in coverage on key park events, such as the Chocolate Adventure featured in this entry.
Halloween Horror Nights 7 (HHN7)
While a few of the park’s usual events are taking a break this year, Halloween Horror Nights is confirmed to return for its 7th edition. Auditions will be held at *SCAPE building, Level 5 (2 Orchard Link) at the following times:
Date: 3, 4, 10, 11 June 2017
Time: 11am – 8pm, last registration at 7:30pm
Benefits for becoming a HHN scare actor includes having the opportunity to be part of the region’s biggest, high-budget theatrical production, ability to torment park guests who are paying for that experience, as well as the chance to be featured as the CoverGhoul™ on Dejiki.com. It’s quite something, I can’t believe you did not know that.
Don’t be silly darling, everybody wants to be us.
Grey Battlestar Galactica (BSG)
The lockers matches the tracks. Yes, the lockers beside the Battlestar Galactica attractions have been repainted to match the new colour scheme of the (sometimes dueling) roller coasters. (Thanks Tong Ming!)
Also, all the lockers are equipped with fingerprint scanners.
Glora’s Snack Shack – menu update
It’s no longer a bento box shack.
Come and get your Bingsu fix! (It’s a Korean shaved ice dessert with sweet toppings.)
And that’s all we have for this park update. Would you be visiting the park for a Chocolate Adventure?

Nicholas I think investing in a Fantastic Beasts area in New York area should be the way to go.
I’ve heard from industry sources that the Genting bosses do have WWHP on their minds. The biggest problem isn’t so much money but land, or the lack thereof. One option being talked about is re-purposing the Waterworld site for WWHP, but that alone still isn’t big enough. Acquiring new land outside of the current USS/RWS boundary won’t be easy.
I have thought about WWoHP in USS for a long time. I think Far Far Away needs to be replaced. Get rid of the whole land and create a Hogsmeade area with Hogwarts Castle. The Forbidden Journey ride and maybe a unique attraction (like a boat ride through the Forbidden Forest or something) should be the new things added.
Madagscar and Shrek take up too much space in USS. There are also neat little kids’ attractions from Motiongate in Dubai that USS should clone from the DreamWorks franchises, such as Dragon Gliders, Shrek’s Merry Fairy Tale, and even a Kung Fu Panda live show. It could all be crammed (along with Crate Escape and King Julien’s Carousel) in a newly-renamed “DreamWorks World” where Madagascar is at the moment.
It is a shame, but I see USS potentially closing in the next 5 years. The development opportunity is not there and it seems that Universal do not really care about investing in the little land they have available on Sentosa.
