Check out the photos of this year’s Hello Kitty Run 2015 – a night run with a festive celebration!
Hello Kitty Run returned with an evening, Christmas edition. This was much better planned than last year’s inaugural run, which had quite a dramatic conclusion, or tussle, over the race medals.
We didn’t take part in the run this year, but still dropped by to cover the event. Enjoy the photos!
The organisers picked a much better location this year, with the race at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay. So instead of the rather boring trees and roads of Sentosa, runners got to enjoy the cityscape in sunset.
This is of course, not a serious race by any means. Some of the earlier finishers did run, but let’s face it. This event draws a rather wide audience, and it ends up being a big fun walk.
Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel, in their Christmas-themed outfits.
This is an event where people will pause to take photos. The scenery’s lovely anyway. The photo spots last year were easily missed due to the crazy downpour.
This year, there are four special ‘zones’ along the race route.
UV Zone – a short tunnel with UV lighting, making runners’ tees and shoes glow.
Further up before this was the Jingles zone, where the Singapore Show Choir Academy caroled as participants walked by.
Starry Night was not so starry (perhaps it was nicer later at night).
At the finish line is the Snow Zone, aptly named for the continuous soap bubbles and snow that runners will run into.
The race concludes at the Carnival area, where there are free carnival games and more photo spots.
Limited edition items from this year’s run, at the Carnival’s Merchandise Booth.
