Craftsmen Specialty Coffee at Siglap is now officially in business, after weeks of soft-opening. I’d say it’s a relaxing spot that will be very welcomed by the community. Check out the cafe in this photo tour!
I was around Bedok (at another bistro/cafe, which will be featured in another entry) and decided to make a trip down to Craftsmen as it was their reopening day. The cafe is just across the quite abandoned Siglap Centre (which is now probably well-suited for some Halloween event).
This cafe is definitely heavy on the Industrial Hipster look. Rusty treatment on the door (which doesn’t close properly yet).
The signboard has two nuts and bolts, matching the cafe’s logo. Plus points for HipsterScore™.
It feels quite expansive and open inside, thanks to full-height windows lining the entire front of the cafe. Lots of natural light let in.
(And ah, the exposed bricks. Of course.)
The centerpiece? A drip tower. Not in use during visit.
The cafe is very spacious, actually. Ample walking room – they could’ve placed a lot more tables and stools around. It’s also nice that this place has an actual bar to sit at.

The cafe uses blends by Dutch Colony Coffee, and even sells take-home packs (along with other merch). Even the red cups and saucers are from Dutch Colony Coffee. I guess a trip to PasarBella can be delayed… for now.

Macarons – wrongly named as Macaroons (??!), $3 a piece.
With a focus on specialty coffee, there isn’t a real kitchen at the cafe. You can get some warmed-up quiches, pies and sandwiches.
Roasted pork for the sandwiches. It’s not the cafe’s “real” first day, but it’s a good sign that they have their menu items stocked.
Likewise, even though the cafe had most of its seats taken, service was really prompt and the staff were very friendly.
An Iced Latte for a really hot afternoon.
It’s a friendly spot to unwind (though there were some patrons working furiously off their laptops). Well, it’s a 30 minute walk from my home, but I’ll be returning to Craftsmen again for some coffee and desserts.

Just visited this place and had an unpleasant encounter with a very rude and obnoxious female staff working in this establishment who thinks she knows coffee…………its a pity i didnt get her name….
